Pick up your pencils, the clock starts now.

1. Jane needs to average 8 hours of sleep every night.  If she got 6 hours Monday and Tuesday nights, 4 hours Wednesday and Thursday nights, and 9 hours on Friday night, how long can she say she was sleeping in on Sunday in order to ignore the call from her mom asking her why she’s still single?

 —

2. In November, Jane weighed 2lbs less than she did in October. In December, Jane weighed 10lbs more than she weighed in November.  In January, Jane weighed 2lbs less than she weighed in December.  If this pattern continues, how much is Jane thinking about killing herself when she gets on the scale in February?

 —

3. It takes Jane 1 hour to move 20 boxes. It takes Mark 40 minutes to move 20 boxes.  If there are 200 boxes, at what time will Tom show up pretending to be surprised that the whole move is done and asking where the beer is?

 —

4. Jane and Meghan have lunch reservations at 1pm and the restaurant will not seat parties until everyone is present.  Meghan always runs 45 minutes late.  At what time should Jane tell her that she’s an inconsiderate asshole?

 —

5. Jane and Sarah are approaching each other from opposite directions and traveling a distance 5 miles.  Jane is traveling at 2mph and left at 3:25pm. Sarah is traveling at 3mph and left at 3:40.  At what time will they fake smile at each other and gush over each others’ outfits like they don’t think the other one is super tacky?

 —

6. Jane starts drinking at 5pm. Every hour she does a shot.  On even hours, she also has a glass of water, and on odd hours, she eats a piece of bread.  If 1 glass of water and 1 piece of bread together sober her up half way, at what time will she text her ex “heyyyy… just thought I’d say hi…?”

 —

7. Jane owns 3 pink thongs, 6 black boyshorts and 5 beige granny panties.  If she chooses her underwear at random every day, what is the probability that Jane will be willing to go home with the fairly hot-looking guy with the wedding ring tan line?

8. Jane stops for pizza on the way home.  She also gets a pint of ice cream.  If she eats nothing but carrot sticks on Monday and Tuesday, what is the chance that Jane is ever going to get her life together?

9. Jane gets into bed at 10:15pm. She spends 10 minutes thinking about whether her friends are happier than she is, 16 minutes panicking about the work she has to get done on Monday and 23 minutes imagining how her life would be different if she had gone to law school. At what time does Jane decide tomorrow will be better before spending the rest of the night taking Buzzfeed quizzes and starting the week all over?

Time’s up.
